THE PROCESS INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING STAGES :
- Submission of the application form with NEET - 2016 Test Score and Rank by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 31.08.2016, 5.00 pm.
- The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for Rs. 1,000/- drawn in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT” payable at MYSORE.
- Announcement of the JSS University UG Dental (BDS) rank list will be done on 10.09.2016
- The counseling will be held at JSS University, MYSORE for UG Dental (BDS) course on 16.09.2016. The counseling process will be announced on the website www.jssuni.edu.in.
- Students will be admitted to UG Dental (BDS) course in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS Dental College & Hospital, MYSORE, on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from the test scores / rank obtained by them in the NEET - 2016 entrance Test.
- 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign National / PIO.
- Decision of the authorities of JSS University in case of disputes will be final.
Requisite Qualification for admission to BDS Course
- The candidate seeking admission to UG Dental (BDS) courses, must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination 10+2 / PUC II / HSC or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/ HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any School / Colleges in India / Abroad after 12 years of study. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
- The candidate seeking admission to UG Dental (BDS) courses, must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination and in addition must have come in the merit and eligibility list of “National Eligibility-Cum - Entrance Test ”for admission to BDS course. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or other Backward Classes the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% instead of 50%. In respect of candidates with locomotors disability of lower limbs, the minimum marks in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 45% instead of 50%.
- In order to be eligible for admission to BDS Course for academic year 2016, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test to BDS course held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of candidates with locomotory disability the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All-India common merit list in ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to BDS course’.
- Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2016 for admission to BDS programme.
A candidate desirous of admission to Undergraduate Dental (BDS) Programmes is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit to the University in the following ways:
- A candidate is required to download the prescribed application form from the University website: www.jssuni.edu.in and submit the completed form to the University on or before the scheduled date (A copy of the application form is given at ANNEXURE – I). The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with NEET-2016 test score and rank and processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only by way of DD favouring “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at MYSORE along with the documents listed below. *
